Jeni Port's article on the wine glut

In Tuesday's AGE Epicure Jeni Port has an interesting article about
one way that the wine industry is responding to the oversupply of wine
grapes- by changing grape varieties.

Here is the URL of the full article

http://www.theage.com.au/news/epicure/theres-a-glut-reaction/2006/05/15/1147545233354.html

The article reinforces the idea that the industry is changing, as well
as growing. As consumers I reckon we are in for three benefits from
the current situation, better wine, wider choice and cheaper prices;
just don't rush blindly in to buying all of the cheap cleanskins that
are flooding the market.

This weekend you can expect an even better time in the Clare Valley. When you visit this beautiful region this weekend you might like to slip out to Inghams Skilly Ridge and try their Tempranillo. They are having a vertical tasting of their temp's along with their rieslings.
