Well said Brian!

In a recent speech in London Brian Croser is reported to have said he was disillusioned with Australia's seeming obsession with 'feeding the maw of the market with wines '…marketed and blended to eliminate any attribute worthy of thought or conversation other than - it’s good value for money'

We at Vinodiversity heartily agree. Brian pointed to the opportunity Australia to produce premium terroir-driven wines by exploiting its 'regional wine treasure trove'.

You can read about the speech at the Decanter's online news page.

(just a short ad now and then)
Winemakers choice, an OZ-based online wine merchant is offering a buy-one-get-one-free promotion for new customers.

In the UK, Virgin Wines are giving away 20 GBP Vouchers for new customers, plus a free entry into their quarterly "Win Your Weight in Wine" competition. Sounds like an incentive for the more Rubenesque amongst us!

Our US readers may like to take advantage of the offer by the The Wine Messenger who are selling Peel Estate Chenin Blanc for a US$10.50. Peel Estate is a small vineyard south of Perth in WA.

The story so far

I have been busy building my site at Vinodiversity. Gathering information and setting up the various templates. Thus far I have spent considerable time reading from the web and those old fashioned things called books. But I have had time to put up some pages on Durif, Marsanne and Sangiovese. Over the next few weeks I will give occasional updates on progress. I will also be setting up a newsletter for vinodiversity lovers. To be continued...

Welcome

Welcome to Vinodiversity a site for those who are looking for a bit more diversity, excitement and even PASSION in their vinous activities. The blog is related to the site Vinodiversity.com, where the ideas, suggestions and information is fleshed out more fully.

The journey to vinodiversity will include excursions, detours and distractions into ampelography, oenology, climatology, pedology, imbibliography, phytopathology, nomenclature, etymology and just plain enticements to bacchanalia.
